Bangladesh‚Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Infant and child are not only the assets but also they are the future of a country or a nation.Women are core of development because they bear children and they are nearly half of the total population. Infant and child mortality are powerful indicators to measure overall health situation of a country. In fact, infant and child mortality are also powerful social indicators. The aim of this project is to identify the effects of socio-economic variables on
infant, child and under-five mortality of CHT (Chittagong Hill Tracts) and also to help the vulnerable children and households to reduce child mortality and raise awareness amongst families to provide the children of CHT a better way of life. Enlighten the children set out to make a difference to CHT (Bandarban, Khagrachari and Rangamati), which is one of the most deprived and vulnerable regions in Bangladesh. This area has been neglected for too
long and we decided to take on the challenge of helping to bring an end to this. To start with we will be staying a month each in every district of CHT treating at least 1250 children per district and conducting 20 counseling sessions covering 400 households. We will need 60,000 GBP per district totaling 180,000 GBP to cover the whole of CHT to achieve our goals. We are confident that it is achievable to raise enough funds to cover the cost of helping these vulnerable children and families in CHT.
